I've noticed I make alot of careless mistakes on tests and not reading questions properly. I've noticed mediation helps with reducing the amount of careless mistakes and reading questions problems and it also helps me to block out all irrelevant thoughts that seemed to pop up in my mind when I try to solve problems.

Should I just meditate and practice more with these tests to make sure I won't make these type of problems again?

Why do you think I do this and what else could I do to help my problem?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For an example with a careless mistake.
When I'm dividing by 2 I always remember the number 5 aswell.
So, when I had to show my work with the calculation which was

4/2=2

Instead, I wrote down 4/2=5.

Meditation helps with stopping things like that.

--------------------------------------------------------
With not reading questions properly I sometimes forget the other available information so then I'm not able to solve the problem efficiently.

Should I keep meditating and maybe it will change? What else can I do to help myself?

Is it possible that you have testing anxiety? Meditation, breathing exercises, and even proper nutrition can help to alleviate some of the symptoms associated with this.

It may also help to read each question multiple times; the brain often catches details on a re-read that it did not notice on the initial reading. If you have a tendency to read very quickly, it may also help to slow down the speed at which you are reading the questions so that your brain has more time to analyze the text.

If time allows, try to go back and check over your work after you finish the test/quiz/assignment. I find that I catch most of my mistakes after double-checking the assessment.

Best of luck to you! :)

Do you someteims misread or misunderstand things you've read that are non test related like while studying for the test? If so it might could be a learning disability like dyslexia. Maybe it would help if you had someone read the tests to you;

Always check your answers. When you learn a new kind of problem to solve, ask your teacher for some quick ways to check your answers. See if you can think of any yourself.

For your example division problem, the answer times the bottom should equal the top. 5 times 2 isn't 4, so you've quickly figured out there's a bug in your work somewhere. When you find there's an error, there are two ways to proceed. If there's a lot of work involved, go through the steps you took and see if any are wrong, fix those, and check your new answer. If it's a quick problem (like the division) or you can't find your mistake, you can go ahead and start the problem over and check your new answer.
