Diagnosed and prescribed medication, that is (medication which still works in an adult, no?)

If it's missed in the child then what could an adult do?

While I am not from the UK, my knowledge about the diagnosis of ADHD in adults in the U.S. and my internet research compels me to believe that adults can be diagnosed with ADHD in the UK. The medication should work in adults as well, although higher dosages may be required.

Yes you can be diagnosed with ADHD as an adult in the UK. I was provisionally diagnosed initially with ADHD and given Concerta, when it did absolutely nothing helpful and they did a full developmental history (the initial ADHD diagnosis was made after a one-hour appointment) my psych decided it was AS instead. I was already seeing a psych for bipolar disorder, not sure how difficult it might be to get an assessment if you're not already in the mental health system.

Of course you can be diagnosed in adulthood. Symptoms sometimes get misread or misunderstood as something else.
