Natural Foods+Meds for Schizoeffective
Ive heard fish oils are good for mood and cognative functioning. I take them but cant really say if they do anything. Its hard to notice what pills actually do. Multivitamins are good too. Go to walgreens and look at the various vitamins and they all say what they do on the bottles.

You're smart to maintain a natural diet. I would imagine that helps a great deal not just with schizoaffective disorder, but with your overall health.
Omega-3 pills are best if they are made of fish oil, but there are also DHA pills made from algae. You could try those and see if they help.
It would probably help you a lot to try to boost your glutathione levels. Glutathione is made in the liver, but it is used in the brain as the strongest antioxidant. The problem is, your body won't absorb it if you take glutathione pills. You have to trigger your body to make its own.
N-Acetyl cysteine is a supplement you can take that will trigger the production of glutathione. I have heard milk thistle also does this, but I haven't ever personally tried milk thistle. You can get both these at most vitamin stores.
Whey protein is also really good at making your body produce glutathione- probably because it is a food. Many protein powders and pre-mixed protein shakes are made with whey protein. I usually drink Atkins diet shakes (about 2-3 of them a day). If you try the shakes, you will know within an hour if it helps you. So it doesn't take much of an investment to try it out.
Aside from all that, you could take the route of trying to control your body's stress response. It only takes 5 minutes of meditation a day and you will immediately notice things just roll off your back. It will take a lot more to upset you, and when you do encounter something distressing, your response to it will be far less reactive. All meditation is is sitting in a comfy position, closing your eyes and focusing on your breathing. If your mind wanders, don't get mad, just redirect your attention on your breathing again. It's shocking how something so simple can have such a massive impact on how you handle stress.
Yoga is also helpful in the same way meditation is.

I had a Glutothione cream that I put on for years! It did nothing for me. Ive also done the chelation diet/therapy, and avoided "food allergies"(I had tests proving my allergies, yet I dont GET ANY REACTION off of natural food allergy products, only get reactions out of the stuff thats NOT NATURAL). The chelation diet did NOTHING for me except rack up the bills.
All of the stuff was over $500 dollars a month, and the doc who prescribed the stuff, wouldnt listen to me and didnt refund me for all her prescribed "chelation/food allergy/Glutiothione cream" even when we proved thatI followed her diet to a "T".
I like Yoga and Caffeine seems to calm me down.

It makes sense glutathione cream wouldn't work. The body is really picky about what it will/won't absorb. It won't absorb or use straight glutathione, whether you apply it as a cream or take it as a pill. No one knows why, but your body just won't accept it.
The body only accepts its own glutathione, that it made itself. That means you have to somehow get your body to make more of it. You can make it produce glutathione by eating whey protein or taking N-Acetyl cysteine supplements (also known as NAC).
That doctor sounds like she didn't understand what she was doing. She should have known glutathione in a cream won't work. She sounds really unethical if she wouldn't give you your money back. I hate doctors like that, who insist they are right and won't listen to patients.
That is really interesting that you had positive allergy tests for certain foods, but if you eat the all-natural versions, you don't have a reaction? Like if you are allergic to eggs, you can still eat all-natural organic eggs without an allergic reaction?

Yep, cant have Peanuts, Sunflowerseeds, Almonds, Eggs, Fish and spices though the allergy tests picked those up-+the allergies to Milk, Wheat,Soy,Lamb,GoatMilk,Yogurt,Cheese,Gluten,Gliadin, Blueberries etc. Ive had similar allergy tests and they all say the same or nearly exact.
so basically I eat natural versions of Milk,Cheese,Yogurt,GLuten,Gliadin,Berries,Soy,Lamb,Beef, etc with no reaction. I just hve to avoid the Fish,Peanuts,SunflowerSEEDS,almonds, eggs and certain spices.
I had to relook and squint at the lays potato chips because I had an asthma attack after eating a few chips, and certainly enough in tiny print it said -"contains sunflower/and or another oils name that I dont remember-". The same thing happened witha cereal called GrapeNut Flakes, it had sunflower oil in it, again in tiny print.
As for the cream, its doing nothing and my mother is making me take it to finish it off. I do have to say though that the doctor did figure out I was abundant in some minerals/vitamins and delpleted in others through a hair mineral analysis test. This test also picked up an elevation of Aluminum, and picked up some bloodsugar impairment and a few gland issues.
Unfortuneately I cant do the dose of the medicine she wants me to take of certain things, because the one she wants contains fish oil, so Im supplemening with other things. Like I get a B12 shot, and have NeuroMethylation Cream-+An Adrenal Supplement. I havent been succesful though in finding good qualty vitamins/minerals though. The last one I had used contained -"beeswax-" in the Adult Gummi Vitamins and Minerals, it caused my heart to race, and certainly enough Im allergic to pollen/wax...I wish my mother would have told me this along time agooooo...
Also the NeuroMethyl Cream I mentioned isnt good for the long haul, well at least according to the pharmacist, though it does boost my mood up quite a bit. x-d
