I get extreme sensory overload in busy places, lots of colour, noises, smells etc ....This lead to catatonia (undiagnosed don't know who can help)

During catatonia i feel fizzy and cannot talk and can only make the 'S' sound and the mmmmm sound. In extreme case i freeze where i am and cannot move.

My first problem is how to get a diagnosis as i am sure it is catatonia. An ambulance women has seen it but was able to diagnosis

but my biggest problem is as i find explaining hard is too explain why being in a flat even small flat arent suitable and only bungalows are.In my words too many people in a flat and not a bungalow and no stairs in a bungalow. There are more reasons but i cannot think how to explain it.A women once said 'but the other people are in a closed room so you would see them etc. I have gone to my dad and in 2 mins i was already finding it hard to speak properly.

I have high functioning autism

For your first problem the answer seems quite simple. To get a diagnosis, first write down all of your symptoms on a piece of paper and any questions you have. Discuss this with a trusted person such as a family member if possible. Then make an appointment with your family doctor or GP and take your list of symptoms and your trusted person to that appointment with you. The doctor can discuss these with you and refer you to an appropriate specialist. The specialist can then make your diagnosis and give you treatment.

I can't help you with your second problem.

For your 1st problem you may not need an official diagnoses persay in order to get treatment. Benzopines(like Xnax, Valium, Ativan/Lorazepam) are one of the treatments for that & they are also used for anxiety/panic-attacks. The sensory overload may be somewhat related to anxiety or causes anxiety for you so treating the anxiety with other anxiety medications like Buspar might help as well; Buspar has to be taken a couple times a day but I haven't noticed any side-effects from it & it helps my anxiety whereas benzopines are used as needed. Klonopin which is a more mild longer lasting benzo could be taken shortly before you go out. I read that Topamax which is a seizure med can sometimes treat catatonia too & it has to be taken regularly. Your GP or psych can prescribe those meds. Like Sarah said write down your list of symptoms & you can hand it to the doc/psych during your appointment. It may also help a lot to do some research on possible treatments & you can suggest one or two that sound appealing to you & reject the 1s that you have major concerns with.
I'm sorry I'm not able to help with your 2nd problem.
