I want a service dog or....a therapy dog I guess, for my panic disorder which is partially caused by AS. Does anyone know the process of getting one if I wanted to make my own dog - therapy dog instead of buying an already trained one?

It will depend on where in the world you live

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

My therapist once suggested I get a service dog to help with my anxiety issues. I don't know anything about the laws in Florida pertaining to this kind of thing (I'm from Oregon) , but here there are just too many hoops to jump through to get a legally recognized service animal. That (combined with the fact that I really don't want to stick out any more than I already do) is what prevented me from doing it.
