What's with my speech?
Page 1 of 1 [ 1 post ]
What's going on with my speech? Lately I have become very conscious about my speech and it's bringing down my self-esteem. I don't feel like just "accepting it" I'd rather either get a clearer, deeper voice, or die. It's bringing me down that much. Family tells me it's very deep, but my therapist, being brutally honest, pretty much said I sound stupid. I have prosody issues and I'm afraid I'll be stuck this way forever. I sound very weird and nasal.
Why would I want to "accept" this? I'm sick of having my voice, it seems that no matter how I adjust my voice, my speech always sounds the same. I feel like I'm gay (no offense to gays) or a 12-year-old.
