Urge to uncontrollably meow

I do this all the time, though I suspect it is a tic. But it feels different and more like a stim and that confuses me even more.

Does anyone else do this????

Used to meow at least a handful of times a day (more during my adolescent and childhood years). Thankfully, for me, this tapered off quite a bit as I became an adult. There is still an urge to do this on occasion, but only feel comfortable voicing that sound alone. Meowing was something that relaxed me in my youth, so perhaps it, along with laughter were my two main stims....as they both settled me quite well.

No, but then I don't have a cat.

I am sure that if I had one I would meow frequently - which would probably confuse the heck out of the cat because I would have no idea what I was saying in cat language.

I meow sometimes to mock my cat. We don't get along that well. I tolerate him.

I have cats so yeah...lol and sometimes me and brother message or text each other 'meow'. I think we could confuse a lot of people IRL if we were to start meowing at a bus stop or something. I've also barked at dogs, though I don't think I am so good at that, but sometimes its tempting to bark back at them when they bark at me...some of them look quite suprised like 'what is a human doing trying to imitate my bark?'

I still suspect that it is a stim, but it's still involuntary, so I dunno...

I have a cat(my girlfriend's) & I never had the urge & I didn't have the urge to bark or go woof when I had dogs either. I talked to them sweetly in English because English is the only language I know.

when i was a child in primary school, i had to walk to school, and i used to like to cause all the dogs in peoples back yards to bark violently. when i walked past any house i knew to have a dog in the backyard (and a side fence that they could not get through), i used to start barking, and before long, the dog/s came barreling around the corner and hung their paws over the fence barking madly and trying desperately to get over the fence.

i used to bark savagely at them and then run in their direction and suddenly pretend to be yanked back (like dogs when they run out of chain when they forget they are tied to a post).

all the dogs sort of barked themselves hoarse after a couple of minutes and seemed to lose interest a bit (relaxing their ears and letting them point sideways), so i then moved on to the next dog on my route to school.

i no longer do that because i drive everywhere now.

I meow by choice. I meow at my cats because they seem to like it, and I also sometimes meow at humans when I feel meowing expresses how I'm feeling. (For example, instead of asking 'let me in' I'll meow and scratch at a locked door.)

i tend to crawl on the floor while meowing.
i would suggest not doing it while hospitalized, because they will just send you to the isolation room with restraints. that, or Thorazine ...AH

I do get the urge to raw like a lion. I have done this on occasion especially when I have a good old stretch, it does feel really good.

I get a few odd looks though, especially when I'm in work when I've done it.

Yeah, if it's involuntary them maybe a tic. When I had a cat I used to meow along with him, voluntarily.
