A while back when living with my sister she observed my hyperactive patterns and also my mind wandering off and forgetting things at times not to mention me acting inappropriate at times but on the other hand I dont forget things important to me like my aspieish obsessions and my routines. She told me that I might have ADHD as well if so it might explain alot also when I was a kid I was like Bart Simpson only with Lisas Intellect. I do get into mischief a lot and get extreemely hyper sometimes ADHD and autism seems to go hand in hand though. When getting diagnosed with autism they didnt look for any other possible disorders probably because both disorders have some of the same symptoms at times like hyper activity and figiting which I do when im stimming.

The Squid was diagnosed with both as a child. The Squid's ADHD is tempered however by the ASD. We do not exhibit the hyperactive tendencies of ADHD, and are quite calm. We do however deal with racing thoughts and find it difficult to focus on a single subject.

I go absolutely nuts! Maybe its true I also have ADHD it explains my wrecklessness online! I say innaprioprite stuff to get attention and stir things up out of mischief out of a few laughs and have an immature sense of humor like fart jokes and perverted jokes!

I am diagnosed with both, but I'm really not much of a mischief maker, but that might just be because I'm a girl. When I was 6 I was diagnosed with ADHD, primarily inattentive type, but I wasn't diagnosed with AS until I was 17. My mom remembers around the time my ADHD diagnosis my doctor saying something something like "but she doesn't quite act like a kid with ADHD." Even so, that doctor completely missed my AS. Although AS is a bigger issue for me, I still struggle with ADD related issues too. For me it's sort of like my ADHD compounds my Aspergers related issues.

Im starting to think i might have both because both symptoms seem to match up and it doesnt seem too uncommon for those on the spectrum to have both.

It's possible to have booth, but booth disorders also have quite an overlap. The easiest way to find out if you've really ADHD is to try if stimulants help you to calm down (if you don't want to try psychiatric drugs, you can also try coffee for example if it calms you down, became that's a
also a stimulant).

Sometimes when I smoke a cigarette it calms me down *shrug* Coffee kinda calms me down but wakes me up more if I have energy drinks then im rediculously hyper! I do get wreckless and forgetful about things and my mind does wander off into the clouds!

Sorry for my spelling mistakes. My program was kinda wrong.

I don't know that much about energy drinks how they work in normal ppl. Actually a high amount of smokers have ADHD. It's kind of "self medication" since it calms them down. How do you score on ADHD tests on the internet?
If I were you, I would get tested by a professional for ADHD. The beet is to go to one who is also experienced in developmental disorders.

Results of Your Adult
Attention Deficit Disorder Quiz
You scored a total of 47

Inattention Subscale: 25
Hyperactivity/Impulsivity Subscale: 22
Based upon your responses to this adult ADD/ADHD screening quiz, you have replied in a way similar to people who have symptoms of moderate to severe attention deficit disorder. People who have answered similarly to you typically qualify for a diagnosis of ADHD or ADD, and have sought professional treatment for this mental health concern.

If you were diagnosed with ADHD, it would likely be of the Combined presentation, as you indicated significant symptoms of inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity.

You indicated that several of the symptoms were present before age 12.
You indicated that the symptoms occur in two or more settings.
For ADD or ADHD to be diagnosed by a mental health professional, usually the symptoms must occur in at least two different settings (like school and home, or work and home), and they must have lasted at least 6 months. Symptoms typically worsen in situations that require sustained attention or mental effort, or that are boring.
You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it may be likely beneficial for you to seek further clarification about a possible diagnosis of ADHD or ADD from a physician or a trained mental health professional soon.

This sounds very much like me. I've never been very hyperactive, but my attention is terrible. Any little thing distracts me, and it's so difficult to get back on track once it's been broken.

Trying to get back on track is the worst! It takes me forever just to be able to settle down to do a task, and if I am interrupted, I have to settle down all over again.
It makes transitioning from one thing to another really really difficult. Then when you combine that with the autistic difficulty with switching tasks, it gets almost impossible.

To me it seems like when I move from one thing to another, my world is throw off and it takes effort for me to get oriented and to "anchor" myself again.

OMG! I have always just assumed you were both ADHD and autistic. You remind me so much of myself when I was young. We are too much fun. I would hang with other ADHD Autistics all of the time if I could.

I just hope I dont have any other possible disorders as well because some speculate I might also have BPD as well as ASD and ADHD im not even gonna bother with the Bi Polar tests. Having ASD PTSD and a high probability of sever ADHD is enough to take in.
