If say someone of the opposite gender to you harasses you, gives you a lot of attention or bothers you a lot and at the time you complain a lot about it. From a psychological point of view if that person started ignoring you why might you not like it?

Sounds like they might like the attention but pretend they don't to play hard to get. Then if you stop paying attention to them, they lose that attention that they secretly like. I wouldn't let them bother you. Sounds like they're just playing games for attention.

Because that person seemed to be trying to hurt the person before (by harassing), but ignoring someone is another way to hurt them, so they might be suspected of just trying to hurt someone in a different way.

The person now leaves you alone and pays no longer attention to you (or harrasses you) and it feels as if they have rejected you?
