I have heared good things about hypnosis as part of a treatment, especially for addictions, but i suspect a large part of it is a placebo (which is fair, if it works, it works).
However, i have also heared (and experienced) that those with an ASD are harder to hypnotize.
I myself have been "hypnotized" (well, a hypnotist tried to), but i was not affected; my outer shell was loosened, but my underlying personality was still going on full, it showed itself becouse my 'mask' was compromised.
I suspect that the "NT-masks" we wear protect us from hypnotism and related effects, as hypnosis alters your top-level personality; but my mask is made using the same principles, so the effects counteract each other.
