There is a new proposal for schizophrenia criteria for the ICD-11, mentioned in a recent article, "Shall we really say goodbye to first rank symptoms?" by Heinz, et al. (2016). The article's behind a paywall, but I managed to get a copy.

Here they are, in my own words:

The patient must have two (2) of the following seven (7) symptoms. At least one (1) of those symptoms must be from criteria 1-4.

1.) Persistent delusions
2.) Self-disorder (experiences like feeling as if your thoughts aren't really your own, you are a robot, self-other confusion)
3.) Persistent hallucinations
4.) Disorganized speech, though disorder
5.) Negative symptoms
6.) Disorganized behavior
7.) Catatonia

No time limit given on proposal, but it's likely it'll follow the ICD-10 where it has to be at least one month. (Only the DSM has the 6 month requirement.)

Discuss.
