Does anyone suffer from this form of OCD? It's where there are no visible compulsions, it's all done in ones head, though sometimes we will ask for reassurance over our intrusive thoughts/obsessions with others. I have had this since I was about 10, it's manageable now but it does find a way to bug me.

I personally think this goes hand-in-hand with the kind of hyperfocusing that Aspies are prone to. If we have special interests/positive obsessions then surely it fits that we would have intrusive thoughts/negative obsessions.

I am not Dx but OCD without the compulsions seems to fit for me ( intrusive thoughts ) , although to be honest I probably have hypochondria as since joining this forum I reckon I fit the criteria for around 6-7 disorders.

I have a diagnosis for severe OCD and although I do manifest some compulsive behavior, I'm mostly affected by the obsessions. And I often experience my intrusive and obsessive thoughts in such ways like I hear them being told to me or see as if I'm doing the action that I dread. They take a sensory form. For a long time I thought these obsessions didn't belong to me but were put into my head and taken out of my head by somebody/sth else.

The dangers of a list of symptoms on the Internet eh. Intrusive thoughts are incredibly hard to deal with and often not talked about. There are probably way more people that have these kinds of thoughts than we realise.
