I just tried what you were describing on myself for a little bit and man does that hurt a lot.
Yeah, that is too much beating yourself up a lot, when it might be better-directed to a tree or something.
Don't break your fist or wrists on the target though. Put a padded target (pillows) on it if necessary.
Or maybe head-butting the target instead of punching yourself.
May as well «channel» that «energy» of yours into a «healthy» activity (like martial arts) after all.
Who knows... this could be the «blessing in disguise» that you need to start feeling successful at something.
With all of that energy-expenditure you could potentially develop a «hot bod» before you know it for the ladies !
