I'm currently in the middle of an existential crisis, and in an attempt to resolve the issue, I've been watching a lot of videos regarding spirituality and religion. However, a lot of the videos, mainly the ones centered around New Age Spirituality, have given rise to even more existential dread within me. Mainly, it's due to multiple claims made about the existence of large shadowy organizations controlling the world (ex: the Illuminati) and the possibility of solipsism being real. I'll link to the people that I've been watching down below if anyone wants to get more information, but my main concern is this: how do I stop these intrusive thoughts? CAN they be stopped? Can someone please help me reduce my paranoia before I go insane?

First, stop watching the videos. I commented on your other thread. When are you most likely to watch the videos? Is it at night? If it is at night, when are you sleeping? What has helped me is to keep myself of the same schedule as NT's. I may not participate in anything else NT, that isn't absolutely essential to life. But, food ( balanced diet ), more water, and sleep are top priorities. I cannot stress enough the need for sleep in these type situations, natural (as natural as possible ) meaning not alcohol or illegal drug induced sleep. Next, get a therapist or a psychiatrist. Then, get moving. Get tired... I used to watch this one guy run all over the place, thought he was crazy. But, he was taking action. We are not meant to be mushrooms, growing in the dark. We are meant to see the light of day. If sun hurts your eyes, buy a sleep mask and sit out in the sunshine for 20 minutes each day (be sure to drink water). These are immediate things you can do. It's harder to go crazy if you are worn out physically. Going crazy takes a lot of energy...

You can do this!

Stop watching those films (read instead, if you remain interested in the general subject), don't watch television (you'll thank yourself later, for many reasons), and avoid those awful "social networks" that are so trendy these days.
