Quote:
Omega-3 fats have little or no effect on anxiety and depression according to new research from the University of East Anglia.

Increased consumption of omega-3 fats is widely promoted globally because of a common belief that it will protect against, or even reverse, conditions such as anxiety and depression.

But a systematic review published today in the British Journal of Psychiatry, finds that omega-3 supplements offer no benefit

been taking 2 grams [total] of EPA and DHA in a fish oil base capsule [a horsepill] for many years now, i know it is doing something right as my moods are fairly level and my arthritis pain is under control. of course, i augment it with megadoses of concentrated curcumin and turmeric oil.

Probably as usual with dietary interventions - they help some small number of people who have a particular problem on "standard" diet and do nothing to all the rest of the population.

the key thing is to get the fish oil supplements that have major amounts of EPA/DHA in them, most have only a tenth of that versus the total mg. of fish oil. you need about a gram to two grams of the good stuff in a high concentration, for it to work.

Fish oil is the only supplement I take regularly, it definitely seems to help me.
