Brain-injured people are not crazy. They are not being manipulative or trying to hurt you. Most of the time they are struggling to protect you from themselves.
This is what traumatic brain injury looks like (not the guy in the video, but the description of TBI he delivers) - people who have experienced it can stabilise over time, but it can take decades to fully recover, if ever at all.
