Same here, most of my favorite bands were on that list. Most gay guys I've known have been into musicals though, and I can't stand that kind of music.

It's a rarity to find a gay guy with Asperger's and it makes me feel abit lonely.
I'd like to chat to other gay Aspies to see what they think on things etc.
Just so I know I'm not the only one on here?!
I'm not really camp and I do not really like the idea of clubing etc. but I do like gay music.
I'm intelligent, arrogant, creative, eccentric, stressed easily, complicated but have a good heart (I do voluntary for the homeless and the elderly) and well... different.
Gays unite?!

Big ups for being different!

I am a guy who is attracted to other guys....that makes me a homosexual but NOT gay. Being homo and gay/lesbian to me are two completely different things. Gay is an entire "culture" that has its own social norms and expectations, and I definitely do not fit into that culture at all. In fact I abhor most of the aspects of gay culture.

I've had people tell me that gays are more accepting of others because of their own stigmas and oppression, but I think it's a load of BS. Gay people are just as repulsed by me as are most other NTs.

Thankfully, I guess, I am not "visibly" homo - by which I mean I am not in the lease effeminate. And by that, coupled with my own personal convictions and by virtue of being an aspie, do not make me accepted in the gay community and make me feel like that can go fock themselves.

I agree - I dislike labels. As I heard on Nip/Tuck the other night "labels are for cans of tuna".

In that case I'm not "gay" either. I'm certainly not into the culture and most people read me as straight. However, I feel the term "homosexual" is a bit too clinical for my identity.

BTW, Oasis = gay music?! LOL. Most Oasis fans I've met would beat the crap out of you for suggesting such a thing.

I associate certain dance music as being "gay music."

I wonder what most aspies and such think of homosexuality? I know that I would guess about 50% of the NTs in the States are very prejudice. I don't know if that would be quite the same for the aspie community because as a group we tend to be more caring and emotional. As a group, we may be too preoccupied and worried about ourselves and situations to think about these kind of issues in some cases. I only know 2 people who are definitely prejudice and at least one of them does not like to use Facebook, so he probably does not go onto forums like this either.

I was born gay and an aspie-I am waiting for the fundementalist religious people to find bible verses that condemn me for being born an aspie like they do for being born gay-I want them to try to say being an aspie is a choice.

Gay highschool dropout here, life's pretty tough being neglected by almost everyone you know.

Hopefully I can get myself out of my parents house soon since I turned 18 a few months back.

Gay. Aspie. Also Canadian. (not necessarily in that order).

I take a different view on "gay." To my way of thinking, a person with a sexual orientation toward members of the same sex is homosexual. That (ahem) label includes US Senators in airport toilets, fundamentalist preachers on European trips, etc. It does not include "gay for pay" or experimentation.

To make the transition from, "homosexual," to, "gay," I believe all that is required is for you to live your life within the context of your sexuality. You don't have to buy into the bar and tubs scenes. You don't have to dance your ass off at circuit parties. But you do have to be honest with yourself, your family and your friends.
