I had mixed feelings about it in the beginning, but felt happy for Transgender people.

As a third-gendered individual myself, I later on used it to come out. I picked the "Other" option, which is handy because that's exactly the one I wanted to choose. No one really noticed or cared, which actually makes me feel a little better. :'')

you are thinking of deleting your account because OTHER people now have the option of telling people their status? It is not a requirement to fill it out, nor are you required to use the added option - they still have male/female - pretty petty to leave only because someone else gained and there was zero effect on you.
