Homophobic straight guys
You know what grinds my gears? When straight guys hate gay guys for sexually harassing them, but they do the same exact thing to lesbians. They'll harass, bully, and threaten lesbians into having sex with them, but when they get a taste of their own medicine they all of a sudden have a problem with it.

Not all straight guys are that way.

Of course I know that not all straight guys are that way, and not once did I imply that. By reading the title, you can see it's referring to HOMOPHOBIC straight guys. Don't put words into my mouth. If you're going to keep being condescending , then I'm just going to stop talking to you.
Okay, I change that because apparently someone thinks I'm saying ALL straight guys are this way.
For example, "Homophobic Straight Guys" implies that you believe straight guys are homophobic, while "Straight Guys Who Are Homophobic", being more explicit, does not.

I think the title it is now is explicit enough. Homophobic is an adjective and it's describing a certain subset of straight guys. Therefore, the post is about homophobic straight guys (straight guys who are homophobic). Not that hard to understand. If a title for a post was "Patronizing NTs", then you'd get the same meaning for that. The post is about NTs who are patronizing, and I don't know how you'd get that the post's title implies ALL NTs are patronizing.
I actually wasn't rude because you misunderstood. I got rude because you were being all sarcastic and snarky for no good reason and still trying to insinuate that I was directing the post at all straight men when I said otherwise.
Weird semantics argument above aside this reminds me of an exchange I had with a friend of mine.
He said that "Christian theocrats are hypocrites for wanting to tear down muslim theocracies." When actually if you're a Christian theocrat trying to tear down other religious theocracies is entirely self-consistent with your belief structure.
Of course homophobic individuals would think that harassing lesbians was ok, but being hit on by gay guys is terrible. That's entirely self-consistent with homophobia.

The best man at my wedding was gay. He gave a great speech at the wedding.
I served in the Navy with gays and lesbians (maybe a few bis, too), and all that ever really concerned me was if they were willing and able to do their jobs and stay out of trouble -- same as any other ship-mate.
Yeah, I did hit on a few lesbians and bi women, but that was before they "came out" to me (funny how many women have told me that they were lesbians). I learned from them to say, "Oh, thank you for asking, but I'm really only into women.

One of the guys that’s one of the leaders of my former church is constantly ranting and raving about homosexuality (gay men in particular).
Since it comes up so often with him, those of us in the apostate community suspect that he is actually gay, but due to religious dogma, feels like he has to constantly condemn it. I think that sometimes there’s something to be said for “protesting too much.”
Similarly, my grandmother had an affair with a woman (which she thinks no one knows anything about), and she’d frequently accuse me of doing sexual stuff with my friends as I was growing up.
It’s just really sad when religious dogma keeps people from being who they really are and can make them so judgmental at the same time.
Of course, not all homophobes are secretly gay (so this post may not be very relevant) but studies suggest that some are.

I’m sick of lesbianism being sexualized as a topic geared specifically for straight men’s benefit. It’s just very distasteful. I think that we’re very gradually going to start moving away from that.
Besides some homophobes secretly being gay, I think men have a much narrower range when it comes to acceptable gendered behavior than women do, so the discomfort that some feel in the presence of a nonconformist male kind of makes sense, especially in more conservative societies. I see it a lot with my dad, actually. He gets extremely uncomfortable when a man doesn’t fill a stereotypically masculine role. I think (and hope) that we’re gradually moving away from this as well.

Psychological projection.
I hate something in myself. I deny it in myself. But I see it everywhere in others. And hate it.
