Are there any LGBT Aspies or NTs on WP who are not religious? Atheist, Agnostic, or otherwise?

I have to ask, how can one be both agnostic and an atheist?

Atheists absolutely do not believe in God(s) or the afterlife.

Agnostics on the other hand think God and the afterlife may or may not be real.

I don’t believe in God, but I don’t think I can be entirely sure that there isn’t one. I don’t believe in a loving god that deserves to be worshipped. I think it’s possible that something out there got the universe rolling and then moved on.

In practice, I’m an atheist, but my atheism isn’t an absolute belief. I try to avoid thinking in absolutes these days.

Honestly I think what you described makes you 100% agnostic. :)

It’s very similar.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnostic_atheism

It’s agnosticism with an emphasis on atheism. There are also agnostic theists.

Left Catholicism behind as a teen (but it casts a long shadow), now somewhat similar to Twilightprincess in my lack of beliefs.

There's a school of thought that claims one can never detach oneself fully from a Catholic past. I once saw a play in London in the late 1970s called Once A Catholic by Mary O'Malley, which was based on this idea, as I recall. I haven't been part of a Catholic environment since the late 1960s, but I still feel some connection to it.

Is it because Catholicism is steeped in tradition and culture?

I'm bisexual and an atheist. I ditched religion back in my teens, raised in a fundamentalist household.

I'm an agnostic atheist. I don't know if God exists or not. I'm guessing he doesn't, but if he does he's a cruel, sadistic bastard who gets his kicks from f*****g with people. He could kill me right now if he wants to, but he prefers to make me suffer.

I feel very much the same way. If the Abrahamic God really does exist, he is cruel and evil and most of his followers are real bastards.

What was your brand of fundamentalism, if you don’t mind me asking?

I was a Jehovah’s Witness. I’ve talked about that a lot on here, so you might already know that.

Did your church speak out strongly against the LGBT community? Mine certainly did.

Some sects of Baptists can get really extreme.
