I'm not transgendered or gay, first of all.

My guess would be that a man with AS would have a hard time living up to tough social standards for what is expected of males in western cultures. A man might feel more comfortable adopting a female role and could decide to run with it.

Or, I think alot of people with AS tend to have simpler sexual fantasies and needs and thus might focus on a fetish because an actual relationship with a woman might be too complex and difficult. I think when it comes to dating or pursuing a romantic partner, many people with AS might have a fantasized or unrealistic idea of what a relationship will really be like. From what I have read many with AS channel their sexual frustrations into things like fetishes and crossdressing. I can see how if one would feel like he had no chance at dating or marriage(even if he was straight,) he would find another outlet for his urges. He might be attracted to something simpler that doesn't require mental give-and-take and stress like a relationship does. I became disillusioned very quickly in the dating world and could understand how one could reject it and find an alternative basis.

So if you combined the inability or unwillingness to live up to the male social stereotype, with the likelyhood of fetishes, it isn't hard to see. However, I could be way off base here.

My very good AS-ish friend is heterosexual...but feels he is a woman in a man's body...or really he feels like both genders...Not sure of the proper term for that.

I know a lot of transpeople, and about half of them are either diagnosed AS or certainly have spectrum qualities. When specifically talking about FTMs, it's more than half.

lols poops, i'd say i was more intergendered than transgendered. basically, i don't feel like a "man" i don't feel like a "woman" and don't really want to be identified as either one...i'm sort of a neutral mishmash of masculine and feminine lol.x

What I don't understand is how it's considered self hatred if one wishes to change his or race but it's not considered as such if someone attempts to surgically reconstruct him or herself into the opposite gender.

Great point. It shows how hypocrite the moralist society is.

Personally I believe it's perfectly natural for people to feel they are of another race, basically because a lot of what determines races is also "hidden" stuff and two people from different races could be more alike on the inside than two people of the same race.

Of course there's also the self-hatred when tons of people change themselves to look like the more favorable race (whites) who dominate fashion. But I still believe there are blacks who sincerely feel white as well as there are whites who feel asian and mediterraneans who feel black.
