I already posted here in regards to gay music lol...

but, after reading in other topic threads, I wanted to, for various reasons, say...

I am gay... also, I am undiagnosed, but positively certain that I have an autistic spectrum disorder (specifically, probably, Aspergers)

I'm just outing myself as what and who I am, so that maybe others will feel less alone.
I know what its like to journey through life feeling like I don't belong,
but from my experiences I've learned its best for one to be him or herself,
even in the face, of that feeling, of alienation.

Life can be extremely difficult, but I think its important to believe in myself,
and realize I'm not so hopelessly alone as my pessimism would have me believe.

So to others, like me, or not so much like me, I say:
You are beautiful! and you deserve to be happy!

I hope I haven't blundered my words,
or put myself on some kind of metaphorical soap box to say this,
but I had this positivity, and I needed to share it.

I only wish I could have been that lucky-no one wants to get to know me-they can't seem to get past my looks before they can find out about me and whats inside. I go places and No one walks up to me to talk to me and when I do try to walk up to people they turn away-I may be on the spectrum but even I can tell what that means.

Don't worry--I'm kind of an outlier too. Certain singers or composers take on almost the level of special interest for me. I went through a phase where I was really into ABBA, to the exclusion of just about everything else. I still enjoy them, but now I focus more on show tunes. But I still go through obsessions with specific shows (2 of them were composed by the guys from ABBA, actually, so that obsession really hasn't died). About the only other music I listen to is music from the albums of Broadway or West End stars. So I guess my tastes lie within the gay musical realm but are for more specific and intensive than most people's.

Hello fellow ABBA fan! I used to be like that for a long time, but eventually I got into classical music. I still listen to ABBA/ABBA related stuff a lot though.

Just a general question for everyone - what is the criteria for music to be considered "gay music"?

I'm not sure if people think I"m attractive or not, but I usually don't care about looks when I"m with a man, personality is a little more important....among other things.

well they dont get to know my personality because they can't get past my looks to get to know me-how do you gauge someones personality if you don't talk to them and being on the spectrum I have been told I wasn't liked because of my looks and personality by someone who was a friend-it tough for me to walk up to people and start a conversation and when I do try they turn away from me for some reason so it has to be looks. Its very difficult and hurtful and even being on the spectrum I know what it means when you try to approach someone and they turn away.

I guess I can understand how that feels, theres a lot of people that I find humorous and intelligent but they don't like me...I tried to get in a local group that was playing dnd...they basically shut me out of it... I talk to other people...if they don't like me, I don't bother trying to talk to them anymore. :?

Have you heard of Chess, or Kristina fran Duvemala (which I am missing accents on)?

Oh yes, I particularly adore "A Sunday In Battery Park" in the original Swedish Cast Recording of Kristina Från Duvemåla.

It is good but from Kristina my personal favourite is Du Maste Finnas/You Have to Be There. I'm also extremely fond of Nobody's Side, from Chess.

What do you think of Susan Boyle's version of You Have to Be There? I don't like it that much to be honest, but most ABBA fans I have talked to seem to quite like it.
