I re-watched this recently for the first time in years and I still love it. Calling it a "gay movie" is sort of like calling da Vinci a sketch artist, since it's so much more, but it certainly belongs in any discussion of LGBT film. I've also got a copy of the book and plan on reading it soon. Can't say enough good things about this story.

In & Out
Rent
Brokeback Mountain (I was younger and very Christian at the time so this one change my life.)
Camp (One from when I was younger, also.)

I've seen more but these come to mind.

I recently saw Blue is the Warmest Colour. It had such great reviews. The girls in it were quite hot, and i was engaged, but the sex scenes put me off, does anyone ever really scissor anyway?!

Only in porn meant for straight male consumption...and maybe circus acrobats?

Blue is the Warmest Colour, decent story, decent acting, and it was something other than Hollywood for a change. The girls were hot, but I really don't watch movies for sex scenes anyway, if I wanted to watch sex scenes I would watch porn.

I remember when the film came out reviews which described the naturalness or seeming reality of the girls sexual relationship. It seems it was somewhat wide of the mark. Despite the good qualities you mention, it went for stereotypical sensationalism in the sex scenes. I don't much like porn, and don't watch films for porn, but blue is the warmest colour, I guess was either being exploitative or ill informed.

Why does it seem like every film and tv show these days has a sex scene?!?! It's absolutely disgusting! [Sorry for ranting! ]

Its kinda boring to watch if it holds no purpose in the story.

Oh also i liked:
Milk
The talented Mr Ripely
Velvet Goldmine (kinda have a thing for Jonathan Ryhs Meyers but not really in this)
Boys Don't Cry
Dallas Buyers Club
My Own Private Idaho
The Crying Game
Transamerica

I heard high art is good too, am gonna check it out.

High Art was good. The orientation of the characters seemed irrelevant to the film which was cool.
