Between Posts 1 and 499, you are given a "rank," such as "emu egg."

After 500, you become a "veteran."

In the old days, once you've achieved your 1000th post, you were able to assign a "rank" for yourself. You could be a "Blue Whale" if you so desired.

I think that would have been quite suitable. You do have a jovial quality to you.

I was originally female :?
Then I became genderless :)
Then I became female again :(
Then, through some momentary glitch, I was able to change my gender to male

Now, how do I get people to stop calling me she?

How's this:

*may change gender without notice
because you weren't confused enough*

*please refer to me as 'it'*

*if you cannot refer to me as 'it', please refer to me as 'he'*

*refering to me as 'she' may induce vomiting*

I am not comfortable with 'it'. 'It' is a tool or something inanimate. I am not comfortable with 'they' as some people do because all I can think of is 'multiple personalities'. I know that's my limitation. But, why not appropriate a term from a language that does not use gender pronouns.

The Chinese have two versions:
Mandarin: Ta (YiGeREn would know more about this)

Cantonese:
Keui (Pronounced as somewhere between Kui and Koi)

But, I do love this:
Quote:
*may change gender without notice
because you weren't confused enough*

We tend to use 'it' for people quite a bit where I live, so it seems more natural to me.

The trouble with using an obscure form of pronoun is nobody knows what it means.
It would involve constant explanation of the word origin and pronounciation.
I can't see myself doing that.

I have a short form of my name that many people call me by instead of using a pronoun at all.
It would be an English teacher's nightmare, but there you have it:

"Ral's going to the shop now. Ral needs to buy some eggs. With any luck, Ral will be back soon."

I get it. I'm just uncomfortable with the terms. It's up to me to adapt. I am only one person.

I would say that you present yourself to the outside world, whether that is real or virtual, as the gender with which you identify or as genderless as you see fit. It is comforting for other people to categorize others so that they have some frame of reference in their imagination but this may merely be because that is how we have been trained and new perspectives must be learned.
Now seems like a good time to start learning.
To me, the only time I would personally feel that I deserve to know what the other person's physical attributes are, would be if that other person wanted to enter into some kind of a more personal and possibly physical relationship.
Does that seem fair?
