I'm going to have to give a third vote for Ted Cruz's future LGBT Ambassador hopeful, Caitlyn.
I really, really wish that any trans person in the public eye that transitions could just...restrain for a year or two before taking up any self-appointed reign as official spokesperson of all transgender people, everywhere.
Especially for that first year, they experience this strange euphoria of no longer being repressed and just have too much potential to do harm while in the spotlight. I mean, I understand that they already crave media attention or they wouldn't be in media. And I realize they are going through a second (and in some ways, first) puberty. And I get that everyone is different, being trans crosses all subgroups and so on, but I wish I could tell them, "Your story is in no way typical" and, "please wait a year or two, until you find out who you are, and settle into being that person". That goes for Zoey Tur, Kristin Beck, and a few others, too.
Please note: this has nothing to do with her being conservative; it has to do with her publicly aligning herself with the public figures that use conservationism to induce violence against LGBT people.
