Thank you so much!! ! I really appreciate your support!
^Yay! You're like the Flash--suddenly you're here, and then you're gone again!

I wonder if Puerto Rico will ever become the 51st US state?
Anyway, hang in there. It's not easy, as I'm guessing it's (transgender) even more difficult for some people to accept than being gay (like myself). I hope you can find some support in real life as well as on this forum, but we are all here for you.

*^Actual mental reaction*
That's what a corrupt political party here is desperately trying to do, "PNP's" the call them over here.
As for my opinionated answer to your question, click on the video below.
The reason why are the following:
A. The U.S. is already in an economical crisis of its own and cannot afford to make it a state.
B. The actual process of making a place a U.S. state is a complicated and unlikely one, especially for a place like Puerto Rico.
C. We would have to pay a ridiculous amounts of taxes of which we cannot afford due to Puerto Rico's own economical crisis.
Honestly I'm already thinking of leaving Puerto Rico as one of my long-term goals. I even heard that, should there be a disaster happening, Puerto Rico will mostly likely turn into Fallout 3; Everyone is gonna start killing and stealing from each other all the while Puerto Rico remains a deserted and abandoned wasteland (one with a lot of forests and tress for the most part since it's full of it.).
All I hope that, in this possible apocalyptic future, Puerto Rico doesn't go back to the old days... The days when Puerto Rico used to be a haven for Pirates from all over the Caribbean. (I believe they still exist, just not as fancy-looking like the one we see in Pirates of the Caribbean )

Thanks for clarifying that, BlondeAlien: as I'm not from the US but South Africa, I kinda thought it may have been to Puerto Rico's advantage to be part of a larger whole. But I guess you're right. Larger isn't always better or more advantageous.
Poor Puerto Rico was also targeted last year by some kinda prophet saying that a comet was gonna strike the ocean near it at 2 a m on an unspecified date: a very apocalyptic scenario indeed!
If you should ever leave PR you should consider Canada! Some lovely folk stay there!

^Lovely folk indeed! There's several universities around here that offer services for special people--Aspergians, gays, lesbians, transgenders, and so forth!

Canada is starting to sound better and better the more I hear about it!! !
Originally I though of Europe as one of my alternate destinations should the U.S. not be an option. I'm favorites so far are Spain, France and the U.K or Ireland.
Oh and thanks for the encouragement too Envirozentinel!!
^Yep, the government and ecconomy are a mess, but at least it's not as bad as the US. I'd like to travel to Ireland some day.

I dont follow politics or any of that stuff. To me it's really just a joke. A bunch of old people arguing about stuff, competing for personal power, and never actually DOING anything of use. My parents are into it, and it's pretty annoying.
And as for something like geography, well... I live in the US, and heck if I even know where most states actually are. I know where Illinois is, since I live there, Iowa and Florida since I've been there so many times, and Texas for... some reason. But the others? Heck if I could even name half of them. Just... no interest.
So knowing where other COUNTRIES are, or much about any given one, is out of the question. I know some stuff about Japan, but that's the only real exception.
