I don't feel welcome in mainstream LGBT spaces

I don't even like being associated with LGBT, but because I'm basically gay I'm made to feel like I'm automatically a part of it. I don't care about politics that much, nor do I want to get close to someone who would get pissed at me over it. I just want to live life. Shouldn't the whole point be that I'm just like everyone else despite it? Yeah I think so.
It's more commonly far left, and I find them harder to deal with. My own family can be far right, so I'm used to it.

The whole point of the Stonewall Riots was that the LGBT community got fed up with being harassed by the police and decided to do something about it. Like you, they just wanted to be left alone. And not be used for political purposes as is being done now with transgenders.
