I'm a member of some homosexuality groups & a lot of em say that lots straight women say they are bisexual because it turns guys on & that lots of the guys who claim to be bisexual are actually gay but don't want to admit it. I'm NOT saying this is accurate but it wouldn't surprise me. The bisexual women I've known were very slu*ty & the bi guys I've met seemed more gay than bi

Yes because we're less confined to social norms.

The whole "bisexual" thing these days should be taken with a grain of salt. It's really trendy to be bisexual now you know, and trying to pick out real ones is as pointless as trying to say whether one brain type is more bisexual than others.

This is how I see it for the most part.

I knew someone who came to the conclusion that homosexuality was OK, but that if someone was bisexual it was because of Satan. I wonder how many other people have that particular fundie-lite view.

Could it be that the person believes that bisexuals are unfaithful or something :? A bisexual women I've known said that being bisexual meant she could date two people at the same time because they weer different sexes

Some bisexual people are obviouslt idiots and think that means they can cheat. But plenty of straight and gay people also seem to think they can cheat

Being bisexual doesn't mean someone's gonna be with a man and a woman at the same time any more than I'm gonna be with a blonde and a brunette at the same time

Obviously some people are in open relationshiphs though, in which case it's fine. but most bisexuals aren't

You are absolutely rite but some people are using bisexuality as an excuse to cheat & it makes people suspicious of bisexuality

Yeah cheating is wrong regardless of someone's sexual orientation

I have had the discussion of 'bi-sexuality' with friends who are both straight and gay and pretty much all agreed with the conclusion that to be truly bi-sexual in the true sense of the word you have to be attracted to both genders on an emotional level as well as a physical level and many people who claim to be bi-sexual will have sex with both men and women but will date only one of either gender, for example.........

A 'Bi-Sexual' man might have sex with men but only date women

A 'Bi-Sexual' woman might have sex with women but only date men.

I also agree with the previous comments that the issue needs to be taken with a pinch of salt (a very large one at that) especially as in the goth/alternative/s & m circles it's very fashionable for women to pass themselves off as being 'bi-sexual', less so for men.

I think that sort of posing is equally common in all "circles". The Girls Gone Wild BS and the people it caters to are an example of that. Or "OMIGOD I LIKE TOTALLY KISSED A GIRL!" pop songs and their fans. Is it even humanly possible to be more mainstream than that?

So, your friends and you have decided that you all have the authority to define someone else's sexuality?
Sorry but I don't think it's actually up to you lot.

Being bisexual means being attracted to both sexes, that's what the term means and how we define the sexuality, it doesn't mean you have to be both emotionally and sexually attracted to both sexes any more than all heterosexuals or homosexuals have to be both emotionally and sexually attracted to all those they are attracted to - some people you just like sexually, some you want a relationship with. We can have relationships, romantically or sexually, with whoever we like.

And because SOME people claim to be bisexual when they're not this means we're all faking it, that bisexuality isn't a real or valid sexuality and those who define themselves as bisexual are deserving of less respect? I know plenty of people who once 'pass themselves off' as heterosexual when they were actually homosexual - so are all straight people actually gay? Or do you just assume they're gay passing themselves off as straight?

you tell 'em JJ ;)
i'm not bisexual, men just look quite unappealing to me. i generally prefer female company too tho. i think aspies not in hiding have more freedom to choose to be bisexual, assuming an element of choice exists.
