apparently elizabeth gurley flynn had same sex relationships so her. she was a socialist and activist back in the late 1800s and early-mid 1900s and just generally awesome. i hope i dont find anything bad about her. my heroes tend to disappoint me in some way eventually. reading a book about her now. it is quite riveting.

I would have to say Ellen DeGeneres.
She just goes to show that gay and lesbian people can be successful right along with everyone else.

Sophie Wilson, the designer of the ARM instruction set. She doesn't inspire me as such, but I think she is rather cool.

I wouldn't say that there are particular GLBTIQA people inspire who me, I just like them for being awesome, too many to list.

Yeah, but some of the people I admire are.

I would add Stephen Fry because, personally, I can relate to him a lot as an individual. I relate to him like a friend I have had for 50 years, even though I am only 23, if that makes sense...

I do think he was an interesting character. But I feel that Rowling did not elaborate enough.

George Takei is generally awesome.

But my real LGBT "hero" would have to be the gay friend of mine who was my neighbor for several years. I absolutely loved his personality- still do. One of the most intelligent, honest, fairest people I've ever met. You felt warm just being around him, even if he's not doing anything in particular to make you feel that way. That was even true when you didn't have romantic or sexual feelings for him. At least, that was how I felt. I wish I lived closer to him.

I forgot to mention John Barrowman, but him too. And authors Bret Easton-Ellis and Douglas Coupland.

Rachel Maddow seems intelligent, articulate and thoughtful on her show (as well as attractive)

Chris Colfer and the whole of Glee in general.

Lady Gaga

And Andrew from Desperate Housewives, for the reasons GraySun gave.
