I wanted to ask you guys a wee question.

Does this sound plausible? With regard to sexuality, I've only ever really been confused about whether or not I like girls. I labeled myself Bi and then Gay, then Bi and back to Gay again. Now, I'm not as obsessed with labels as I sound. I've gone on and off girls and I did go out with a girl for a short period while I considered myself Bi. I was attracted to her a bit, but I was constantly looking at boys when I was out! :P I don't find girls very attractive at the moment, but sometimes I do a little. Could it be that I am Gay, but I'm attracted to girls because of lack of sex? Maybe, when I get a boyfriend, I won't be attracted to them at all.

Maybe you are bisexual with a preference for guys.

I guess I could be. The thing is, even when I do find girls a little attractive, it's not emotionally. So, which is more important?

I used to think being Bi would be easier, but I think Bi people have it harder because it's more difficult to fit into a social slot, it's more confusing for them and more difficult for other people to understand, too.

I just try to avoid labels altogether, anymore.

You don't have to find a slot. Sexuality is not either/or, it's about what you like and how you view yourself. I've gone back and forth myself in describing myself as lesbian or bisexual, but the truth is that while I've had relationships with men, how I feel about women is a lot stronger. I think of myself as dyke, even though straight folks give me so much hassle, telling me I can't be gay because I'm too cute, or not manly enough, or like crossdressing/butch women, or because I have mostly male friends. So I privately identify as lesbian, but nowadays I tell folks "I like girls" without using labels or talking about dating guys, because otherwise folks want to argue with me about what I like and how I feel.

Thanks for both of those. I do like the idea of being label-less. I guess the labels don't fit us all very well. I hope I don't ever get people arguing with me about it. That's what I already get for being a vegetarian.

No, of course not. Vegetarians don't eat fish and those that do are liars. They are pescetarians.

somewhere i read aspies tend to be particular about their diets...? don't know if it's true, but at least in my case i can't eat most dishes, so it's hard for me to have a balanced diet. people with little food choices tend to develop allergies because they tend to eat the same foods over and over again...

i was vegetarian for many years but recently i had to start taking fish products because my body was getting weak. for those of us who have ibs, dairy products are best to avoid. then people with ibs can't eat many veggies either because they give way too much gas and intestinal spasms (in ayurveda this is called vata constitution). ppl with ibs mostly can only handle veggies if they are very well cooked, which takes away a lot of their nutrients. legumes are also rich in nutrients but they give lots of gas to ppl with ibs, no matter how one cooks them. in general, if legumes are peeled they can be digested a bit better, yet one can't eat them very often or in large quantities. also in india they use a spice called hing (asafoetida) which is wonderful to prevent intestinal gases, but it got a strong, rather disgusting smell and it's not readily available in other countries. charcoal pills don't work for some, plus i'm not sure they are a healthy thing to ingest.

then the white of eggs is good for some of us, but in countries like india, if you eat eggs you are not vegetarian, so really my prospects of being a universal vegetarian are rather low...

also eating can feel like a waste of time when one is involved in an exciting project and it easily becomes an uncomfortable activity when one has to sit at the table with talkative nt people. so....... looking forward to the day a pill that gives all nutrients needed by the human body is invented...!

until that pill is invented probably one's best choice is to think more positive about eating and take more time to chew the food. probably then one may be able to digest food better!

I am VERY picky about food. It's my #1 sensory issue. I didn't give up meat solely because of that but I never ate it much in the first place because the texture of it was kind of gross (IMO). So it was easy to give up. The texture of eggs is also disgusting to me so I gave those up. Milk too. Yuck.

Nowadays I eat mostly vegan with some cheese here and there.

yeah, texture (and also smell and taste) of eggs and other foods sometimes can be quite disgusting. i discover that if i make bread with the white of eggs as one of its ingredients, then i can't taste or smell or feel the egg's texture at all while i'm eating the bread and still i´m getting the benefits of its proteins. however, if i make the bread with the full egg, then i can smell the yolk in the bread.
