I'm trying the best I can to deal with being single as a gay guy with really no nice guys around that would work best for me. What I do a lot is when I'm alone or in bed, I pretend there's a guy next to me a lot. I thank myself for not letting my desire of a relationship take over my life and I do at least value my friends and family. I'm going to college in august so I hope to find a wonderful guy for me :] What's the best way to deal with being single?

I spent a lot of time masturbating and throwing myself at cheap prospects. I don't recommend this as a viable option.

Regular, engulfing distraction?

I'm happy to be single. I wouldn't know what to do with a romantic relationship even if it fell on top of me.

The best way to deal with being single is to try to enjoy it for the time being. For example, now that I'm in a relationship I have much less time for myself. To the OP: when you go to college you might want to check if the college has a lgbt-group. Groups are often much better for finding partners than bars

You know, being in a relationship (or otherwise not single) isn't always that great. There are days where I wish I was in a relationship, but then I remember that there's good and sucky parts about being single, and good and sucky parts about being in a relationship. :)

I've found that I really have to be satisfied with myself before I can be successful in a new relationship. There are times when I feel lonely being single, but I try not to let that hold me back. Sometimes I see a movie or go out for dinner by myself and I even have a good time.

Have you looked into purchasing a body pillow?

Don't necessarily set your hopes too high on that one. At my university the LGBT association was a disappointment. There was one other guy there who looked like the sort of person I might get along with (he looked to be East Indian, so I hope for his sake that he comes from a very liberal family). But one person wasn't enough to justify the discomfort of attending meetings. But that said, everywhere is different so hopefully you'll have better luck.

I haven't looked in purchasing a body pillow but they do sound helpful.

I agree. this is one of the things that really has me discoraged about being in a relationship
Not that I'm a selfish person but more than likely If i was to find a partner male or female they would be NT.

NT's expect certain things from you and I come off at times as a cold callus individual with no heart even though that isnt true
