Have you ever incorporated the negative aspects of the opposite sex into your gay persona??My brother did this when he first came out. He was so insulting and bitchy (stereotypical snotty girlie) that I had to ask him time and time again to knock it off. He eventually came to grips and just become himself again but out of the closet this time. It was a relief to have the true him back again. I always knew he was gay anyway - it was no big surprise to anybody really.

Are they really negative aspects of the opposite sex? Is gay male cattiness and bitchiness an aspect of femininity? I think not.

Many men, once they come out, tend to come out with a vengeance. They take their newfound freedom of expression to the extreme. Outward show, and flamboyance can be part of of that--and it's just a short step from that to Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.

But just as your brother did, many people settle back into a pattern of behaviour that is more typical for them.
