Aston's book on straight relationships applies to us, too
A straight guy in my aspie support group very kindly pointed me in the direction of this book, insisting that what's in it most certainly applies to gay men as well. I've only got a little ways into the book, and am already blown away by how right he was. This is exactly what happened to me in the late 1980s with a man I had a strong crush on (I just changed one word) --
"After the initial intoxicating romance between the man with Asperger syndrome and this latter type of woman [man], there can be a gradual realisation from both partners that the relationship is not as fulfilling as anticipated. There then follows a grieving process for the relationship that did not materialise."
