Is it wrong that I'm bothered by rainbows now always being a symbol of being gay? I can't wear anything rainbow just because I like the colours because people will think I'm lesbian. Actually I'm sure now that I'm asexual, and I didn't know until I read about on Wiki there are colours that symbolize it, too. But I doubt most people would know about that at all if I painted my home light purple or hung up a triangular purple-ish flag... I'll bet Bible-Thumpers don't have a clue about asexuality at all, most people don't, but it often makes living in a hypersexualized society hard. :? Oh well, I'm here, I don't want to have sex guys or girls, get used to it! :P

Nah, what's wrong is that you won't wear a rainbow coloured ______ because you care what other people might think. If you want to wear something rainbow coloured because you like it, do it.

Funnily enough, I'd almost have the opposite problem if people did know about the asexual pride flag since I tend to wear purple, grey and/or black clothing.

As for the main topic of this, I can't say that I'm all too impressed. It just seems like baiting the church to do something even dumber than they already have, and it just comes across as giving them attention. It would be pretty funny to see their reaction to gay pride symbols right outside of their windows, though. I'm Not a huge fan of the supporters of the house stating that everyone is the same either. I don't get why being different needs to have negative connotations and sameness positive ones.

I wonder if there is another house for sale in that neighborhood ... one that needs a coat of black paint and a pentagram topiary ...

WBC is insulted? Where does the article suggest that?

I, for one, wouldn't feel in the least unhappy if they did feel insulted, but it seems to me that they are far too deluded to perceive this as insult.

Good. The WBC deserves it.

Pentagrams are actually believed to protect against demons.

Quote:
Steve Drain, spokesman for Westboro Baptist, issued a statement via email proclaiming that the church thanks God for the “Sodomite Rainbow House.” The house shines a spotlight on the church’s belief that sodomy is destroying America and damning souls to hell, he stated.

Pentagrams are actually believed to protect against demons.

Tradition has it that a summoned netherworld creature can be contained inside a pentagram that is inside at least one enchanted and sealed circle, but that merely wearing a pentacle or pentagram will not protect you.

This is the one that I'd paint on a wall facing the church...
