On ABC family there is a new series called The Fosters. The Fosters is a compelling, one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Stef Foster, a dedicated police officer, and her partner Lena Adams, a school vice principal, have built a close-knit, loving family with Stef's biological son from a previous marriage, Brandon, and their adopted twins, Mariana and Jesus. Their lives are disrupted in unexpected ways when Lena meets Callie, a hardened teen with an abusive past who has spent her life in and out of foster homes. Lena and Stef welcome Callie and her brother, Jude, into their home thinking it's just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found. But life has something else in store for the Fosters.

This is a show that centers around a lesbian couple and there family, that is something really cool and new. I was wondering what people in the LGBT community think of this show.

I must say, TV shows are getting more and more bold these days. Reminds me of TV in the 70's when no subject was taboo. Back then you saw sitcoms that talked about race relations (Sanford & Sons, All In The Family), interracial marriage (The Jeffersons), rape (All In The Family), homosexuality (All in the Family, The Streets of San Francisco), etc.

Gay weddings have been on TV before but the fosters aired the first gay wedding since DOMA! Totally cool! :D

I think it is OK, not necessarily the best, I noticed it from a spot from another show I liked on the same station "Switched at Birth"

they have some really interesting situations I think, so I keep with it.
