Covenant House Fundraiser Pride Party at Steel Toad

This is what I've been working on for several weeks now.



If you're in the Vancouver area, come! Invite others!

It's a fundraiser for Covenant House, a youth homeless shelter where 40% of residents aged 16-24 identify as LGBT and that's the primary reason for many of them being homeless - kicked out of their family homes for being gay. They come to Vancouver from all across the country because they can survive our mild Winter outdoors if they have to, and also because we have services from places like Covenant House. 150 people live there full time, and another 50 per day drop in for meals/services.

$20 ticket price goes to Covenant House, includes a free beer. We'll have music by Mark Woodyard, comedy by Nick Pound, and some really awesome prizes to raffle off - including: Kiteboarding lessons from aerialkiteboarding.com, Parkour lessons from Originsparkour.com, SUP lessons & rentals from standuppaddlevancouver.com, boat rentals from dragonboatbc.com - AND all of these outstanding people have volunteered their time to take some kids out from the homeless shelter to do these things.

Yeah, yeah.. you might not be the party crowd of people type.. but still, if you know anyone in the Vancouver area that might come, please share this with them.

Several local radio stations might mention it on air, one of them put up an events page on their website, vancitybuzz is writing an article, it's listed in every newspaper's online events section.. hopefully it translates into a decent turnout and successful fundraiser party. Only time will tell! In the meantime, feel free to help spread the word via Facebook if you're in the area or know people that are.
