"If you were to sleep with a woman, who would it be?"

Yeah.

I hate it even more when I am told that I am a misogynist because I honestly claim that my answer is "none of them". I don't hate women. I just can't get it up for them. That's how I am wired. What part of the word "homosexual" do these people not understand? I am attracted to masculinity. And I am not ashamed of it. Other people are attracted to femininity, and there is nothing wrong with that. There is somebody for everybody in the world (within reason, of course), as far as I can tell.

Are they secretly hoping that I may realize the errors of my homosexual ways, find a nice wife and have lots of babies? Well, I don't want children, and I don't want a wife, and I don't want to be a wife either, so there you have it.

Yes, people ask stupid questions.

Just make a joke and say Amelie Mauresmo or some other very masculine woman and they might take the hint...

I guess some people are not capable of understanding that other people don't think/feel in exactly the same way as they do.

You could tell them that the woman you would sleep with would have thick facial hair, no breasts, muscles, hairy legs and arms, the biggest penis and testicles that a woman can possibly have and have absolutely no femininity in her.

Then, you can ask them (if they are straight men) the question, "If you were to sleep with a man, who would it be?". If they say none, then call them sexists/misandrists.

If they still don't get it, then they need brain replacement therapy.

Next time they ask that you should ask, "if you were to have sex with a man, who would it be?" they'll feel uncomfortable answering that question most likely.

It's called, "hegemony". When something has been so pervasive for so long people don't even realize it exists. In this case, het-privilege. Luckily in a growing number of places today, there is nothing wrong with politely saying, "I wouldn't want to sleep with a woman. I like men." and have it be respected.

sounds like a hamfisted attempt to reconcile top/bottom with hetero sexual standards. equal parts ignorance and lazy thinking imo

You could say "I'm not comfortable discussing that."
End of story.
After all, it is none of their business, right?

Alternatively you could answer with "well, if I was STRAIGHT, maybe -" and just respond with a woman you find appealing aesthetically, intellectually, emotionally or whatever, just not sexually.
I'm queer and not into men, but I can still stretch my imagination to consider if I were into guys, the sort of guy I might in this alternative universe be into. Just an idea.

I love it.

"If I was STRAIGHT, I could probably SLEEP with [name]...just so long as we're not having sex. I mean, you don't think they roll around too much or pass gas at night, do you you? 'Cause that would totally mess up my sleep."

It's the NT in the hetero that makes them ask you that. It's the aspie in you that pisses you off about it. Take it light and not so literal. My kid brother is gay. People ask him this all the time. His answer is Janet Jackson.
He asked me that if I were lesbian, who would I be madly in love with. I have a very good imagination and I said, Mia Farrow - because Woody really hurt her and I would want to protect her. Just use your imagination make up something. Here's one, "Rosie O'donnell     ! !!"

Naming a gay woman is a perfect answer on so many levels, esp. if the speaker doesn't want to be confrontational. Very nice.

I was asked this question at work recently. I wasn't offended at all.

My reply was that chick from Regenesis who also played in the movie Hard Candy.

"Ellen Page?" Yeah, her. "lolz yeah I can see that she kinda looks like a boy." And yes, I know she's a lesbian - but that has nothing to do with my response.

Then I turned the tables and asked him which guy he'd f**k. His response was "Ooooh, that's a good one.. it'd have to be about power and control, so some super macho masculine guy - maybe Clint Eastwood.." Then he changed his answer to Obama.

I don't find these sorts of questions and conversations to be annoying or anything. They're just silly fun.

Not wanting to think about sex with women even in a humorous sense doesn't make you misogynistic, no.

The question itself is joking, but there are a lot of weird attitudes out there. Lesbians get men thinking they can convert them or people asking if they can watch them have sex.

Straight men ONLY want to convert lesbians to show how their EXTREME masculinity has "won" still again. They degrade the lesbians by asking if they can watch them have sex - it makes them feel in control of the situation and to be dominant at the same time. Porn has no place in both straight and gay society. This is where they get these ideas. Porn has always and will always degrade women and warp people's understanding. It's all about the dollar being more important than the soul. Porn is a trillion dollar industry and extremely addicting.
