Does anyone here care to share about their life before they came out ? Specifically, did you date straight, opposite-sex people and why?

I came out as heterosexual when I was five years old. Never regretted it.

Dated a girl very briefly (couple weeks) when I was 17 & have otherwise not had any relationships besides FWB/hookups that others don't know about. Been out to certain friends for half my life, but now to family/friends/coworkers etc only over the last few years. Haven't really had a relationship to speak of, but open to the possibility of one more than ever. Not really interested in hookups like I used to be. I'll be 33 in a couple days.. time to start dating sometime. Hmmm, maybe this year, maybe next. Not that I haven't had an opportunity.. just that the guys interested in me I haven't been that into, and the very few I've been interested in weren't interested in me in that way. Such is life - we all want what we can't have and all that good stuff.

I came out as a homosapien :P Homosexual when I was 16 years old. Never dated anyone. I finally started dating a guy back in June and he is currently my boyfriend. I am 21 now. I do not regret coming out except for the cons like anything else.

Um...no one really knows about my lesbian side, but I can say that I have been attracted to girls for a long time.

I don't do the whole "coming out" stuff but before I properly understood, I messed with both men and women. With men it was horrible, with women just unsuccessful because of my own body at the time and my lack of understanding about the issue. I don't do boxes and I generally don't do disclosure though, so it's irrelevant.

I did not do much dating before I came out of the closet. I was a virgin anime otaku, I hung out with other virgin anime otakus.

Granted, I had to hide how much it stung every time they talked about how AIDS was God's punishment against homosexuals. I stopped hanging with them after I came out of the closet, obvious reasons, although one of them did admit that he talked like that because homophobia was a socially acceptable way to talk s**t in those circles.
