I personally think they are the most wonderful band I have ever heard of.

I've only heard their album "The Gray Race", but it's brilliant. Really smart lyrics and catchy tunes.

I like them, but I am not an expert on them...(don't have any albums, but can recognize their songs)
I once sat in on the ukulele for one set for a Bad religion/Dead Kennedies Bluegrass cover band called "Dead Religion" :)

Hey, I'm the ultimate Bad Religion lover!

I guess this is actually an aspie obsession for me... I own all their records and know by heart about 95% of all the lyrics they evere wrote (they recorded 13 studio albums so far, starting from as early as 1980).

I even have Greg Graffin's (lead singer) PhD. thesis autographed here at home. For those who don't know, this guy has a PhD in evolutionnary biology. His thesis is called "Atheism, monism and the naturalist world-view".

Check this out... this is Greg Graffin performing the song Sorrow on an acoustic guitar. This song was actually written by Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion's guitarist and main songwriter along with Greg Graffin). Alert! : this might bring tears to your eyes.

Sorrow
Let me take you to the hurting ground
where all good men are trampled down
Just to settle a bet that could not be won
between a prideful father and his son

Will you guide me now for I can't see
a reason for the suffering and this long misery
What if every living soul could be upright and strong?
Well then I do imagine...

There will be (sorrow)
Yeah there will be (sorrow)
And there will be sorrow no more

When all soldiers lay their weapons down
or when all kings and all queens relinquish their crowns
Or when the only true messiah rescues us from ourselves
It's easy to imagine...

There will be (sorrow)
Yeah there will be (sorrow)
And there will be sorrow no more

Cool. I also could never keep track of how many albums they have. They've been around so long. I love their lyrics. Sometimes, the words are so clever and intelligent and yet need to be delivered at a speed conducive to punk that I wonder how GG ever does it without suffocating for air. Stranger Than Fiction is probably my favorite album with Recipe for Hate a close second.

I do not like them. It has to do with their sound. If I could get past that, maybe I'd like their lyrics - who knows.

A friend of mine goes to UCLA, where their singer teaches Life Science. She sees him around campus alot and proclaims its so odd that someone famous in a non-educational field is actually on the campus teaching.

I like a few Bad Religion songs - "Atomic Garden", "Infected", "New Dark Ages" - they're good I guess.
