Does anyone find themselves listening to the same song over and over again and never getting sick of it? Then another comes along and you do the same? Or maybe it's a couple in a playlist that you repeat?

While my friend's highest play count was about 90/100 mine was closer to 2000.

Yeah. Sometimes I just play the same twenty seconds of a song over and over. It's hard to stop myself so I usually end up wasting time doing it.

absolutely! Certain parts of a song, or a certain way a melody is played or lyric is sung catches me and it HITS me inside so I just keep playing it. The latest is "I'll Be There" by Stunt. I normally dislike this Cascada-style commercial trance but I love how this tune is sung! And Molly's voice blows me away. Gonna go listen to it now.

Wow I actually can't do that I have to listen to the whole song the exact same number of times, from start to end (or when I can't hear it anymore) and if I skip by mistake I have to go back to as close a spot as possible to avoid it being uneven. Helps a bit now I've set iPod to remember position in the track.
Same with films, I hate seeing only parts of films and once left the room for the first half of Joseph Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat cos I'd watched that half once more than the end, came back for second half.

The way Meryl Streep says 'here I go again' falling off the roof during mamma mia in the film captivates me. I keep expecting it on the CD but it must be different recording and isn't there so I can't listen to it :(:(

There are some others where I love how they say or pronounce something but as mentioned before I often have difficulty playing them over and over as I may wish to.

There's too many examples of that in my music. Lately it's been a lot of Led Zeppelin songs and David Gilmour instrumentals.

I do this all the time. I always have a new favourite song(s) that I'll play for weeks until I find another one.
And also parts of songs I like to repeat and I might like a song just because of the intro or those 20 seconds in the middle.

i do.
but probably after two days i get sick of it and not want to listen to it for a very long time.
and im afraid that if i dont like that song then ill lose interest in the band itself and ill never have those feelings that i had when i first discovered the band

I do this a lot.

First it was Pink Floyd The Wall. I would listen over nad over and over.....literally hours a day. For YEARS.

Then it was Images and Words, Dream Theater.

Now it is Bach's Mass in B Minor....up to three tiems a day and it is very long.

I do this overand over and over. Same with certain songs.

Usually the same segment of the same song, but a lot of times entire songs.

Occasionally I do it for 16 hours. Most of the time it lasts for 5+ hours.

I do this a lot! Never more than a couple of hours, though. And it's useful for finding out the chords, in case I want to play that song myself.

Two nights ago, I listened to "Dragostea din Tei" on my iPod on repeat while I was falling asleep, and when I woke up in the morning, I had all the lyrics memorised (in Romanian!), couldn't get it out of my head, and I was singing it in the shower.

Yep I do this all the time! My favorite song changes every few weeks or so and I listen to it all the time, often over and over and over again.

do it all the time. I have a couple of favorite songs that I play over and over again. It used to be albums, but since CDs and then MP3s came out, I don't have to get the whole album or fiddle with the rewind button.
