Musically, Lennon. As a person... don't know. I think people give John too much credit. He talked big about peace and love and acted like an ordinary, frequently smart-mouthed human. Poor schlemiel got shot just when he was starting to get his act together. But I do get tired of people mooning over the loss of a great man. The loss of a human life, yes, the loss of a still great musician, sad, the loss of a dad who had finally begun to be a dad, tragic.

In my opinion, you can't even compare Lennon's solo career to Macca's. Ram, McCartney, Band On The Run: He put out some great albums in the 70s.

As Beatles, I tend to like McCartney's ballads more than Lennon's more trippy songs, but I definitely see the brilliance both and realize that neither one could have written such amazing songs without the other.

John Lennon - overrated

I like George Harrison then Paul McCartney... John Lennon is overrated. Ringo was a so-so drummer, knew enough to do the job though.

It would of been interesting if Lennon and McCarney let Harrison put more of his songs in their albums...

I prefer Lennon over McCartney, but Ringo's still my favorite Beatle.

None of their solo careers were/are as good as when they were together. The Beatles definitely were more than the sum of their parts.

I used to lean towards McCartney, but now towards Lennon and Harrison.

i admit to having a crush on paul when i was a little girl in the 70's. why, i don't know. however, i can relate much more to john lennon and his f**ked-up ways and dark humor. but mccartney with his goggle-eyed, thumb-up optimism, i just want to whack him up the head with a 2x4.
