Tool is one of the most underrated bands of the past two decades...

I concur and I just love how they never release meaning behind there songs, allows the listener to intepret how they wish.

While Lateralus was an amazing, and 10,000 days was very good, my enjoyment of their older stuff is pretty patchy. I think Aenema especially is dramatically overrated.

APC was pretty good (although I admit to never getting around to listening to Emotive), especially the 13th Step.

I'm just amazed that a band that deep, that intricate, and that profound actually made it big - I never would have thought that kind of thing possible.

I can't say I'm a huge listener - they're one of the rock bands I'd have to say that I respect most, I chase a similar kind of energy in other genres more or less these days.

not to mention Maynard's voice is godly, not just his range but the power in it, when he sings, its kinda hyponotic, like you HAVE TO LISTEN!
The only other singer that is of equal talent is Daxx Riggs, due mainly to his massive vocal range.

Maynard is awesome lyrics wise. No one else liek him

Sobre almost always nearly brings me to tears.

APC are great too .. but seem to be missing the brutal truths of tool.

yes but the newest APC album has some very good songs, imagine cover kicks ass, anihilation is catchy as hell and counting bodies is excellent.

Hmm, an album of covers has never appealed to me, but I've finally bought the song "Passive" and I find it fairly catchy.

Merely as a point of curiosity, what are everyone's favorite songs by Tool? You may organize them by album or just out of their whole catalog.
