THE BATTLE'S OURS TO WIN
(T. Beechey)

So you say you've got some bad news and you're on the road to fail
All you've won you're about to lose and the very end of your trail
Is clearly now within your sight and there's no turnaround
But, if we look, we'll see a Light that's intended to be found
Just by us and us alone and all we need to do
Is follow its Beam where it's shone and, as we follow through
All our worries and our troubles will become an afterthought
And the ruins and the rubbles will become a sacred spot

But we got to keep on fighting
Cause the battle's ours to win
On the wall, there is no writing
And the road on which we've been
Just got some added lighting
And now goes till God knows when
Yes, we've got to keep on fighting
Cause the battle's ours to win

So many uphill struggles in this life we must endure
Sometimes the mind, it boggles and we find ourselves unsure
If we can really make it just from one day to the next
If we ask the Lord He'll take it, all these burdens on our treks
One by one, He'll lift them when we come to Him in prayer
Consider it a gift from that Gracious Man Upstairs
We only have to ask one time and then without delay
All the mountains we're to climb will fall along our way

But we got to keep on fighting
Cause the battle's ours to win
On the wall, there is no writing
And the road on which we've been
Just got some added lighting
And now goes till God knows when
Yes, we've got to keep on fighting
Cause the battle's ours to win

Random words of negativity mean nothing to His Ears
Those obstacles we often see, one by one, each disappears
When he call upon His Holy Name and seek his Word of Praise
All the joys of life are ours to claim in the coming nights and days
Then, in His Footsteps, we can walk and hold our heads aloft
Regardless of that empty talk as we've been scorned and scoffed
With our Precious Savior by our side, our journey's cut in half
And, from then on, we can stride with peace down any path

But we got to keep on fighting
Cause the battle's ours to win
On the wall, there is no writing
And the road on which we've been
Just got some added lighting
And now goes till God knows when
Yes, we've got to keep on fighting
Cause the battle's ours to win
