I HATE METAL.

and, I hate to admit I am a metalhead. Now, while I am one, I don't like METAL.
I like bands in the vein of
High On Fire, Rwake, Kylesa, Black Cobra, Garuda, Slave One
and the like.

But while I was in Dallas, I had the "opportunity" to attend 2 ozzfests and Sounds of the "Underground" and while at SOTU, at the end of the day, I said I wanted my 6 hours back. Then, I realized that I wanted the past few years back. Seriously. I went through all the shows I had been to in my head from Coal Chamber to Shadow's Fall and realized to myself that no less than 2 weeks and LOTS of money were spent to see some assclown jump around and yell some BS about some other BS just to sell shirts and energy drinks when I could have been actually having more fun listening to better music with actual decent people. It took watching the metalheads at SOTU go on about every band how f'ing awesome they were when they either all sounded the same or were just plain terrible to realize that "hey, this is stupid."
I have seen 250 bands and would trade 225 of them in to see 3 good ones.
Randy Blythe is a f---tard, not a genius. Listen to Neurosis.

LaFlare out.

I'm into certain kinds of metal, mainly Nu-metal (Slipknot, Korn, Dope, Orgy etc) and folk-metal (such as Korpiklaani, Finntroll and Týr). I also like alternative metal acts like Marilyn Manson and System of a down if that counts

OMG...I just discovered Sytem of a Down and really love them - I never really appreciated metal untill now, I'm more a rock chick, but I find myself listening to metal on the radio and love it. Maybe it's a new era for me lol.

:wall: HELL YEAH METAL!

Recently i've been listening to a lot of the more progressive obscure jazz-fusion meets technical death metal stuff, like the bands Cynic and Atheist :D i guess Opeth count as well, i also listen to bands like Neurosis and Mastodon, man that Neurosis stuff is crazy.

Otherwise i don't have a hate towards any kind of metal really, although here are some great death metal/grindcore bands that i sorta throw on and listen to randomly(like actual death metal bands man - i remember when people in my school would call lordi death metal  not cool) :
Decapitated,
Nile,
Pychroptic,
Obscura
Necrophagist,
Suffocation,
The Faceless,
Goreguts,
Pig Destroyer,
Agoraphobic Nosebleed,
Jig-Ai,
Brutal Truth and so on :D

But oh some other goods bands that come to mind are Enslaved and Ulver. I'm not that deep into black metal.

As well as ya know, iron maiden and fo'shizzle.

I have loved metal since 7th grade I hold it very close to me as being the first thing I ever felt I "belonged" to other than Aspergers/Autistic circles...I have actually noticed a lot of Asperger metal heads...which honestly isn't too surprising.

Some of my favorite bands:
Symphony X
Scar Symmetry
Nevermore
Meshuggah
Circus Maximus
Wintersun
Spiral Architect
Opeth
Dream Theater
At The Gates
Soilwork
Evergrey
In Flames
Dragonland
Mors Principium Est
Death
Cynic
Biomechanical
Jag Panzer
Children of Bodom
Necrophagist
King Diamond

...so many more...

I'm into power metal and all things alike.

Sonata arctica
Kamelot
Dragonforce (even though their lyrics suck ass)

pretty much any metal where they actually sing.

I love the garage-y early Maiden and Priest. It's so raw and yet completely staged and theatrical.

A russian metal band Distemper.

I like their album Think who is your friends
when I'm in a certain mood. If I'm not at that certain mood, I might not like it. If I'm in a specific bad mood (I don't like it during all bad moods) I can listen to it and like it really much! They've translated their lyrics to English because it's in Russian :)
