That's true, I should check out my library. I gave up on libraries a while back because I usually take longer than the borrow length and didn't want to go back and forth all the time.

Don't forget you can renew, sometimes up to three times! Nearly everything is digital these days so you can place books on hold, search and renew from the comfort of your home without having to go anywhere.

After posting that yesterday I did a search and found that my library has an audiobook download site! I'll definitely be getting a new library card soon so I can start using that service.

I'm in the middle of "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett. I probably will start over soon to get everything.

Finished Steel Beach; the second half was a slight let-down after the first - it became (explicitly) Varley's take on Heinlein rather than Varley's take on his own imagined future - but still very good. His exploration of both the controlling AI and the ramifications of fluid sexuality read better to me than Banks does 'em. I found the book slightly discordant with The Ophiuchi Hotline in parts, it seems he wasn't trying for complete continuity.

Now on to The Golden Globe, another book in the same(ish) setting.

I read Digital Fortress last week. It was a good story, but inaccurate.

Just read Fooled by Randomness. My opinion condenses to "well, duh." :wink:
