My last concert was actually a touring heavy metal/hardcore/emo music festival called Soundwave which is on every February in most Australian capital cities. The headline act this year was Faith No More. Other acts I saw were Alexis On Fire, Anthrax, Jimmy Eat World, Janes Addiction, Isis and others. But Faith No More was the reason I got a ticket in the first place :). I got a shirt of theirs too, but it has no tour dates on the back. Shoulda got the "Happy Birthday f****r" shirt instead

Hey, what is it with Australians and Faith No More??? They put out an album here and it sells like eight copies and then goes triple platinum in Oz. A girlfriend of mine was actually engaged to one of their (many) guitarists in the early-'90s.

Jane's Addiction is a different story. Well, the old incarnation anyway (late-'80s, early-'90s). That's more my generation than yours, though, I guess. Saw them a few times in NYC and then at the very first Lollapalooza before they broke up (and probably should have stayed broken up). Twenty years later -- wow, has it been that long?!? -- Nothing's Shocking and Ritual are currently in my car's CD changer.

I haven't been to a live show in ***so*** long. That's age speaking right there. Last was probably Oasis or Charlatans.

Speaking of tour shirts, I just asked my parents about my Lollapalooza shirt -- had all the bands and dates on it from that first summer. I figured it's probably worth a small fortune. Found out mom used it to dust with for a while and then tossed it. :? Remembering now, it was so worn out that there was more material missing from it than was left...

I went to see The Audreys last night. They're one of the best live acts in Australian roots music at the moment and the night would have been perfect had it not been tarnished by the overly loud audience, who had a tendency to chatter through the set, loudly. I really wish they would perform at quieter venues.

The night before that I went to see Holly Throsby & the Hello Tigers who I'm really excited about due to her upcoming fourth album. It was a fairly large venue where usually people stand around on the standing dance floor but due to the typically laid back audience she attracts, the entire audience sat down on the hard wooden floor instead and the night was really chilled and relaxed. The new music she played too was a blast. I think their drummer, Bree van Reyk is awesome and the band wouldn't be the same without her. She reminds me a fair bit of Jim White, with a really soft touch and a rambling sense of rhythm.

The week before that I saw Sarah Blasko and Clare Bowditch & The New Slang. Both were excellent, as usual.

Two days ago, I went to a gig where one of the most famous greek hiphop bands was playing. I have stopped listening to hiphop since a long time ago but I wanted to go there because I had never been to a hiphop gig before.

It was awesome! We had a powerful mosh pit (I don't know if other aspies like it, but I enjoy pogo dancing) and many of us knew the songs. Even the people that came from Athens couldn't believe that a tiny city like Larissa could have such enthusiastic audience.

In October 2008 I went to a concert with guides. It was called the Big Gig and there were different artists and bands playing their best songs, and it was just for guides from all over the country to go. Everyone had bought these flashy bunny ears so the hall was filled with these blue lights which was cool, and I enjoyed the music and never stopped dancing. My ears weren't half blocked afterwards though
The acts were:
Sugarbabes (ok-ish)
Alphabeat (they were good)
Avenue (crap)
DJ Ironik (very good)
Leon Jackson (crap)
Sam Beeton (bit of a one hit wonder, but he's good)
Scouting for girls (one of the best acts of the night)
The hoosiers (the best act by far)
The saturdays (the music is catchy and I enjoyed it, but their voices are mediocre)
The script (one of the best)
And Sam and Mark were the hosts.

The last concert I went to was Stevie Ann (Dutch singer-songwriter whose real name is Stephanie Struijk), in Amstelveen, last October. As far as I'm concerned, it was great. She was already an excellent singer when I saw her a couple of times at free public concerts 3 years ago, and she's only improved since. She did a great cover version of Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus', which she also did at a Liberation Day concert 2 years ago. I was very pleased. I had never been to the P60 in Amstelveen before, it's a nice place, not too big, and it wasn't packed with people.

I don't go to concerts that often. The only 2 other real concerts I've seen were Living Colour in 2008 (absolutely awesome) and Melody Gardot last summer (also very, very good).

I was briefly interested in Paramore back in 2008, and I thought their unplugged version of Misery Business at a radio show was pretty good (saw it on Youtube). Mayyybe I'll check them out if they ever head toward the Netherlands in the future.

Muse.

Just amazing. They didn't even play my two favorite songs from them (their setlists could have been better on this tour) and they were still great. They put on a crazy show and even though they never said anything besides "Hello", "Thanks", and "See ya next time", they were just bombastic and dramatic. Flawless.

what were your two favourite songs? Mine are probably Micro Cuts and Hysteria. I was blown away when watching them at the positively sterile NEC arena near Birmingham, UK.

The last concert I went was Iron Maiden's "Somewhere Back in Time World Tour" last year. It was very good. In this tour they played only the old classics so it was special! Like "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", "Powerslave", "Children of the Damned". They said that the show was the largest Iron Maiden show concerning attendence of people excluding festivals up to that date. The people here are crazy about Iron Maiden. And so I am. :) . Later I saw "Iron Maiden: Flight 666" that was the documentary about the first part of that tour. I am awaiting for their next show here. I heard rumors that they will make another tour playing only the classics. I hope it is true!

My last concert was Lollapalooza. I guess, technically, the last band I watched was MGMT. They were amazing, but it wasn't too exciting because I much prefer listening to music at home. And, by the way, music festivals are not really a good idea for people with any kind of autism. I had to leave early on the last day, right after MGMT, because there were WAY too many people and all the sounds were too constant. The whole reason I went was because The Strokes were going to be there. So, I'll discuss that concert. It was heavenly. :D I was really close to the front. When the band walked on stage, everyone rushed for the stage. So, I was terrified for about ten seconds that I was going to be trampled. Seriously, we were so packed together that people were throwing up and trying to get out of the crowd and what not. Anyway, I didn't really care. I honestly thought, and still think, listening to The Strokes would be the perfect way to die. I was also sick over that weekend, but completely forgot about it when the music started. I could go on and on forever about how much I loved them - in fact, I wrote a two page paper about their concert specifically - but I'll just say that every day after that I got more and more depressed because it was one day farther away from the best day of my life
But I would definitely pay $215 for them again.

Just got back from seeing Bellowhead. Absolutely brilliant. They're either the best or second-best live act I've ever seen. Eleven of them bouncing all over the place while playing fast and loud. Love the pure instrumental stuff, Sloe Gin and Frog's Legs and all that.

Saw them pretty recently too! Along with Slayer and Anthrax (touring together), but Megadeth was easily the best of the three back there. Dave's voice has been iffy when playing live in the past, but he was pretty on this time.

"Citizen Erased" and "Butterflies and Hurricanes". 'Blown away' would be the way I'd describe their shows.
