I usually listen to Matchbox Twenty, The Killers, MGMT, and Radiohead no matter how I feel. I just like listening.

Well I am always depressed, but when I am really feeling down I really like to listen to depressive black metal, if you don't know what that is listen to the following:

And I also find some of Pink Floyds music to be quite nice when Im feeling down.

When I'm feeling down, I listen to Hurt by Nine inch Nails. And Johnny Cash's version of the song.

Good Day Sunshine by The Beatles. That song puts me in a very, very, very good mood.

"beautiful music" perks me up.

I used to listen to 'After the storm' by Mumford & Sons a while ago, I still put it on occasionally. It makes me cry and crying is good when one is feeling down eh?

When depressed I don't listen to much except relaxing / ambient / chillout music which may help me to feel more calm and relaxed and hopefully better.

"Ame Câline" [ray lefevre] is simply beautiful
sounds orchestral's version of "Cast your fate to the wind" carries me away, as does "Scarlatti Potion#9"
a live 1968 recording of an orchestra led by vince guaraldi playing his "Charlie Brown" compositions is sublime.
tennessee ernie ford/joe "fingers" carr and his carr hops, did a neat [1951] version of "Stack-O-Lee" ["Staggerlee"], done in a ragtime/swing fashion, that makes me want to get up and boogie.
in 1972, rick wakeman did a brain-tickling album called "The 6 wives of Henry VIII" that makes me feel smarter after i listen to it.
in 1968, wendy carlos did an album called "Switched on Bach" that also makes me feel smarter after listening to it.
i appreciate the beatles more each time i listen to their recordings.
a 1955 recording of eddy albert/hugo winterhalter orch. playing "Cattlecall" takes me to another place.
a 1962 recording, "The Count Meets the Duke" is jazz that blasts me out of my funk and makes me ponder things in general.
yogi yorgesson/hari kari plasters a big goofy grin on my face everytime i listen to his old records.
al delory did an orchestral westcoast jazz uptempo version of "suicide is painless" that is swinging.
mitch ryder had such hyper energy that after listening to some of his stuff [like "Devil with a Blue Dress"], i need a chill pill.
the stones' "It's All Over Now" makes me feel everything is going to be alright.
chubby checker's "The Twist/Let's Twist Again" makes me do just that.
