Do you have songs you listen to just to get to a certain part you love?

I heard this on TV the other day and I absolutely love it. It's my favourite song this week. (Hey, I wasn't around for the 80's, so I've got the rest of my life to discover lots of awesome music from the past :D)

Anyways, I listen to it mainly for the synthesizer part at 1:39, and the same synth at the end. It's so awesome; I wish I could play that :D.

Sure - listening to the whole song, or just skipping ahead to the good parts. I.e. the synth break at 0:17 and 2:11 in the song below:

Or skipping ahead to anywhere from 4:30 to 6:20 or so and listening to the end of this gem...

Fast forward to the 3:25 mark to hear one of the greatest codas ever recorded.

The section beginning at the 2:05 mark still makes my hair stand up.

I do this quite often. :D Well, there are parts of some songs that I really love, but I also like the full song so I usually just listen to the whole thing, but play the part I like over again a few times. ;)

The intro of YYZ by Rush I love:

The intro to God of Way by Týr which is just epic:

Also at 5:43 of Alive by the same band that's very catchy I think:

Don't Drop That Bomb on Me by Bryan Adams is a mediocre song overall. The first 30 seconds or so are a musical ecstasy.

The best example of this for me is "In The Flowers" by Animal Collective, off of Merriweather Post Pavilion. The first time I heard it, the climax at 2:31 sold me on the entire album.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but sometimes I skip to the cadenza in Rach III.

One of the best things, ever.

There's a little bass figure that I really like in Elvis Costello's "Everyday I Write the Book." The bass line stops, then drops with two quick notes. In this video the first time it happens is at 0:34. I always listen for it whenever I hear the song.

There are others, but that's the first one that comes to mind.

bruce springstein, when listening to various rock drummers play in live performance, can always tell when one of them emulates or borrows a famously identifiable tom-tom triplet figure that was the signature of drummer hal blaine, and he will shout out to the drummer, "HAL BLAINE!"

I like listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird just for the guitar solo.

i listening to the [quite rare!] CD "Shut Yo Mouth!" CD featuring "Slam" Stewart and Major "Mule" Holley, just to hear Major Holley singing in his inimitable basso profundo growl down low, accompanying his string bass bowing.

The high note at around 3:06 is just amazing. I'll listen to the whole song just for it :3
