the late alan reed [original voice of Fred Flintstone] if trained, would have had a superlative low-baritone singing voice.

there is one italian song he recorded, "ritourna al surriento," that makes me burst with emotion.



he did a dixieland jazz album with billy may, with "waiting for the robert e. lee," that is a joy to listen to. i just can't help tapping my toes and snapping my fingers listening to it.



he did an album of just him [solo voice] and brazilian guitar, that had sad, dreamy contemplative versions of songs like "here's that rainy day again," and "i'm always chasing rainbows" that is a must-have. also his version of "too darned hot" is a hoot.



what a complicated man. had a sister who also was a talented soprano. he is widely thought to have suffered from depression [bipolar] at the end of his life, and some have theorized that he was murdered [via clinical administration of slow-acting and subtle poison, 2,4-dinitrophenol, in the early morning while he was asleep-he collapsed in public that afternoon] by gangsters who felt he showed lack of respect to them, by walking off the set of "the student prince" after the director expressed dissatisfaction with his singing in one particular take. Mario could handle criticism of everything BUT his singing, which was beyond criticism.

If you've seen American Idol in 2011, Travis Orlando has an amazing voice.

if lee marvin were ever taught to sing, his would be a marvelously resonant and musical bass singing voice.

I also enjoy listening to Leonard Cohen, David Gray, Damien Rice (very exceptional voices and music). And now I'm kinda stuck on A. L. Webber's "Phantom - Love never dies" sountrack so I must add Ramin Karimloo on the list

I find Maynard James Keenan of Tool and A Perfect Circle to have a very beautiful voice. Even now that I don't much listen to those types of music, I still appreciate it. His is the only male voice I've ever felt wowed by.

Personally I think Matt Cardle has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.
