I'm a huge Swans fan. I was really glad when they got back together, and I hope to be able to see them live sometime.

"holy money" is very early Swans; i saw them right after Burning World came out, which I think was when they piqued (Gira's Skin is their best work, IMO). More recent stuff seems a bit bland by comparison.

i used to have the album "Cop"...it's one of the heaviest sounds i know of, comparable only (perhaps) to Laibach.
certainly most metal bands seem flimsy & insincere once you've heard this stuff.

I've been into them since I first heard Greed/Holey Money back in 1987. That era of S.W.A.N.S. was very influential for Godflesh. S.W.A.N.S. moved away from that sound to a more ambient style due to the fact that they didn't like the fact that a lot of Metalheads and "HNYC" people started going to their shows.

I wasn't aware that Gira and Jarboe were performing as S.W.A.N.S. again. (From about 1997 to the early 2000's they were still performing and releasing material togeather.)

Swans have reformed, but Jarboe is not with them now.

I love the Swans. The Great Annihilator is my favorite album. Wish I could have caught some of the live tour.
